Set off on a unique full day trip from Kraków to Zakopane, the country’s most famous winter town, and discover the stunning views and untouched landscape of the Tatra Mountains, also known as the “Polish Alps”.
Depart from the city center at first thing in the morning on a comfortable air-conditioned coach and relax while you are driven to the mountainous south of Poland. The Tatra county is home to the popular winter sports town Zakopane and the striking Tatra mountain range (Tatry in Polish), located on the border with Slovakia.
Once in Zakopane, accompany your professional English-speaking guide to the hill funicular, which climbs the Gubałówka mountain. At the top, admire the breath-taking views of the various peaks and Zakopane.
Back in the picturesque town, enjoy a walking-tour around the historic center, discover the old cemetery, the Tatra Museum, Atma Villa, which is a beautiful nineteenth century wooden mansion, the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Krzeptowki and the Jaszczurówka Chapel.
Next, have lunch at your own leisure – the Polish mountain food is exquisite -, stroll through the scenic streets and do some souvenir shopping on Krupówki Street.
On the way back to Kraków, stop at Chochołów, a pretty village with typical nineteenth century wooden houses.
The bus arrives back in Kraków at around 7pm.
